FROM A WINDOW

My true perception of perfection lives.
I see her now. What joy! She smiles and waves,
In blissful ignorance of my respect
And admiration of her qualities.
She breezes through her workload expertly,
And joyously, with passion. Every move
is natural - an elegance without
Pretence - all times displaying diligence.
Her zest for life, reflected in those eyes
That sparkle brighter than a million suns,
Epitomises goodness that resides
But never hides inside a heart of gold.
I hear her voice. That cheerful voice! How sweet
The melody! My heart instinctively
Pulsates in time. She’s close enough to touch,
Yet, somehow seems to linger out of reach.
She speaks in cadences of confidence,
Intelligence and common sense combined.
Her sense of values and humanity,
Equate to my reality of life.
And now she laughs! Infectiously and with
Sincerity, for she would never fawn.
I treasure every precious sight and sound,
Until she’s out of view. Then I reflect.
In searching to express the words my heart
won't dare reveal, yet can’t conceal through pains
Engendering immense discomfiture,
I suffer, silently, in solitude.
