NO WORDS

If every ounce of love that I possess

Could be defined by words that would reflect

The magnitude of breadth and depth and height

Of feelings I am longing to express

Sincerely with due honour and respect

Then I would say these words to you each night.

If every slice of goodness in your heart

Could be described in words that would translate

The sentiments I’m longing to convey

Veraciously I’d readily impart

My thoughts and never fail or hesitate

To reaffirm to you these words each day.

But as things stand I can’t articulate

The true extent of what you mean to me

As platitudes deceive and never will

Do justice to your overwhelming state

Of grace and so I hope that you can see

Despite my lack of words, I love you, still.
