POETRY

Like gossamer, so delicate,
And woven with such mastery
Of craft, and guile so intricate,
Expanding so exquisitely;
The fragments deftly intertwine,
Each stanza building, line by line.
Like candlelight, so intimate,
Illuminating elegance,
The wax and wane is temperate
And oozing soothing eloquence;
In synchrony the flame will rage
With passion spilling on the page.

Like eiderdown, so opulent
And comforting, where troubles cease,
Inducing noble sentiment,
Inspiring dreams and inner peace:
Mellifluous, yet sentient,
The poet’s art is eminent.
